Gabby Ankerson
Gabby graduated from Davidson in 2015. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a BFA in Dance Education. Upon graduating in 2019, she worked as a dance educator at Dunbar Magnet School for Creative and Performing Arts as well as various studios in the Mobile area. She is currently a dance educator at High Point Academy in Fort Worth, Texas where she teaches students in kindergarten through second grade. Her favorite this about being a dance educator to young students is getting to witness and encourage their uninhibited creativity and love of movement.
Kameron Chatman
Kameron Chatman was a Kinetics Dance Company member 2012-2016. She graduated 2016 with an IB Diploma to pursue a BFA in Dance at Florida State University (FSU), focusing on critical dance theory. After graduating from FSU in 2020, Kameron relocated to Atlanta, GA to continue training in various dance styles.
Brooke Eubanks
Brooke began dancing at the age of two, studying ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and lyrical at Gale’s Studio of Dance. During her sophomore year at Davidson High School, a brand-new dance department was created by Angie Dussouy and Brooke jumped at the opportunity to take dance during school hours. She became a member of Davidson High School’s first Kinetics Dance Company where she was introduced to the world of modern dance, while continuing her ballet and jazz training. After high school, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received a BFA in Dance Education. During her time at USM, she was a member of the Dixie Darlings, Southern Misses Dance Team, and USM Repertory Dance Company. In 2013, she presented with USM dance faculty at the National Dance Education Organization national conference in Miami. While in college Brooke was awarded Outstanding Junior, Outstanding Dance Educator and was elected co-chair of the NDEO USM student chapter. After college Brooke taught at Nora Davis Magnet School in Laurel, MS and Dance Dynamics of Hattiesburg for three years before her and her husband, Kelly Eubanks moved back to Mobile. She is currently in her fifth year of teaching at Dunbar Creative and Performing Arts Magnet School and Gulf Coast Dance Alliance. Brooke and Kelly had their first son in April of 2021. While she is still passionate about teaching dance, she is also loving her new role as a mother.
Braxton Kent
Braxton Kent, a lifetime lover of the arts, studied dance at Sheffield School of the Dance, Dunbar Magnet School, and Davidson High School's Kinetics Dance Company. Currently a freshman at the University of Alabama, Braxton is a double major in Dance and Kinesiology on the Pre-Physical Therapy track. He has performed in multiple Dance Alabama! concerts, a student-organized and student-choreographed dance concert. He is a member of the Dance Honors Society of Alabama, where he shares his love of dance with the community through leadership and service work. In addition, Braxton has also choreographed work for a student-organized concert titled Dance Collection. Braxton was invited on full scholarship to the Gus Giordano College/Pro Intensive in Chicago, Illinois for the 2022 summer.
Brian Martinez
Brian received his BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from The University of Southern Mississippi, where he also performed as a guest artist with Hub Dance Collective amongst faculty and alum. After graduating in 2019, Brian moved to Chicago to further his training with Hubbard Street's Professional Program, under the direction of Alexandra Wells. Brian has been a company dancer with PARA.MAR Dance Theatre since 2020, working with Stephanie Martinez in multiple works as well as Robyn Minekos Williams. He has had the opportunity to create films for Chicago’s New Dances and New York’s Future Dance Festival, as well as stage works for performing arts schools and university programs. Brian is now the founder and artistic director of Boykin Dance Project.
Maggie Pope
Maggie Pope, 2017 Davidson alumni, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BFA in Dance Education. As a student, she had the opportunity to work and learn from Rosanna Tavarez, STREB PopAction, and Zion Dance Project. Maggie found new cities and movement techniques through her experiences and opportunities at USM. She was then the dance educator at Dunbar Creative and Performing Arts Magnet School in Mobile, AL. As a dance educator, Maggie was passionate about creating a curriculum for all students to learn about the art of dance and develop as a thinker, mover, and a person. Maggie is currently in New York, where she is pursuing her performance career while interning at Broadway Dance Center.
Amber Terry
Amber Terry is currently attending The University of Arizona getting her BFA in Dance. She graduated from Davidson High School located in Mobile, Alabama where she got the opportunity to train and perform with Kinetics Dance Company, a concert-based dance company at the high school. Amber has also trained from a young age at Debbie’s School of Dance, attended Mobile Ballet, and had the opportunity to travel with Tremaine Dance Conventions as a company member, which she still continues to do as apart of their Pre-Pro Program. Since dancing on the collegiate level, Amber has had the opportunity to audition and rehearse a master work set by guest choreographer Frank Chavez, and perform pieces by UA faculty members Sam Watson, Marquez Johnson, and Michael Williams.
Reginald Turner, Jr.
Reginald Turner Jr. is currently a third year BFA student in dance at The Juilliard School. He is from Mobile, AL, USA and graduated from Davidson High School. During this time, he performed and trained with Mobile Ballet; Kinetics Dance Company at Davidson; and Sheffield’s School of the Dance.. Reginald has had the opportunity to perform works set by Johannes Weiland Caili Quan, Kirven Douthit-Boyd, and Janice Rosario.
Derreck Williams
Derreck Williams, a native of Mobile, Alabama, is a Dance MFA candidate at the University of Alabama where his research centers on the ways in which societal gender roles have impacted the perceptions of underground dance forms, like majorette dance. He earned his BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi. Williams has served as a dance educator in the Mobile County (AL) Public School System, and was selected to lead the development of a dance program for one of the system’s schools. Williams’ choreography has been presented at the American College Dance Association and the Alabama Dance Festival. In June 2021, Williams was selected as a guest artist for the Ten Tiny Dances concert in Birmingham, Alabama. Derreck is now a professor of dance at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Kaylin Wilson
Kaylin Wilson is from Mobile, Alabama. She has trained at the Marguerite Benson Hall School of Dance, Mobile Ballet, W.P. Davidson High School Dance Program, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Ailey School. Ms. Wilson is currently in her fourth season with New Orleans Ballet Theater and is also an instructor for Schramel Conservatory of Dance, Studio G Dance and Gymnastics, And Northshore Academy of Dance. Ms. Wilson has also had the great honor of being an ensemble cast member and Dance Captain for the 2023 production of “The Color Purple” at the historic Le Petit Theater under the direction of Donald Jones Jr.
